Introduction

We at Dealer Information Systems Limited (“DIS”) recognize the importance of protecting your privacy. You need to know what information about you is being collected over the Internet and how that information is being used. We are committed to assisting you in this regard. This Policy describes the information collected by DIS from visitors to DIS’s web site, located at www.disltd.ca (the “Site”), and how DIS uses that information.

Collection of Information

Most of the information collected by us from the Site is provided directly by you. In connection with your use of the Site, we may require you to provide certain information, such as your name, mailing address, e-mail addresses, telephone number and/or facsimile number. If you do not want us to have that information, you should not provide it. However, if you do not provide the requested information, you may not be able to enjoy some of the Site’s benefits.

Other information collected by us may be provided automatically when you access the Site. Software is available from several other companies that enable you to anonymously visit the Site. If you use this software, we will not be able to recognize you and some of the benefits of using the Site may be unavailable to you.

Use of Information

We only collect information for the purpose of making the Site more useful to you. The information collected by us will be used to communicate with you, to evaluate the use of the Site and its content, to improve the products and services of DIS, and otherwise in connection with the business of DIS. In addition, the Site may at times enable you to transmit your resume in order to apply for jobs at DIS. Any resume received by us through a Site may be forwarded to any DIS location for employment consideration.

Other Web Sites

The Site may be linked to other web sites. While this Policy describes privacy issues relating to the Site, it does not describe the practices of any web site that may be linked to the Site. You should consult the privacy policies of those other web sites before submitting any information to them. We are only responsible for information collected by us through the Site.

Cookies

When you visit the Site, we may place a text file called a “cookie” in the browser directory of your computer’s hard drive. A cookie is a small piece of information that a web site can store on your web browser and later retrieve. A cookie enables the Site to recognize you as a prior user, provides the Site with information regarding your prior use and assists DIS in determining what portions of the Site are most appropriate for you. Your web browser may provide you with the ability to not accept cookies. However, in order to take full advantage of the Site, we recommend that you accept cookies from the Site.

Log Files

DIS also reviews data and information contained in log files located on our web server, which record the date and time of each visit to the Site, the user's IP (internet protocol) address, the referring IP address or domain (the prior web site visited), and the files viewed on the Site (including HTML pages, graphics, etc.). We use the log file information to analyze data in the aggregate to determine the trends and usage of the Site. We cannot correlate the log data to identify specific users.

We do not, and will not, disclose, sell, rent or share any information derived from log files with any third parties other than to affiliates of DIS, or as otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy.

Disclosure

We do not sell or otherwise disclose your personal information to others, except that we may disclose such information (i) to our affiliated companies or (ii) when we believe, in good faith, that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with any law or protect the rights, property or safety of another person. In addition, we may sell or otherwise disclose such information in connection with the sale of our business or substantially all of our assets to a third party as provided in this Policy.

Correspondence

We maintain and review e-mail correspondence that you send to us. DIS may use (and maintain in a file specific to you) the personally identifiable information disclosed in the e-mail. Because such correspondence contains information that is not transmitted through the operation of the Site, it is not subject to the terms of this Policy.

Users Under 13

This Site is not directed at children under the age of 13. If you are younger than 13, please do not provide any personally identifiable information in connection with your use of the Site.

Consent

By using a Site, you consent to the collection and use of information by DIS as set forth in this Policy. If we decide to change this Policy, which we may do at any time without notice to you, we will post those changes on this page. By continuing to use the Site after we have posted the changes, you agree to and accept such changes. You should periodically check the Site for changes to this Policy.

Transfers

We reserve the right to assign, disclose or transfer any and all information that we collect from visitors to the Site to any third party in the event that we sell our business or transfer substantially all of our assets to such third party. In addition, we reserve the right to assign, disclose or transfer any and all information that we collect from visitors to the Site to any or all of our affiliated companies.
